Proud Moment!
The highlight of the weekend was Ian's selection as an Order of the Arrow member. It is a great honor for a Scout to be voted into the OA by his peers, and Ian was selected early. He still has to go through their "Ordeal" process, but he is so excited. He will do well. Keri was camping with us this weekend and was able to witness the selection process.
All of this is just one more indication that we have been truly blessed with Ian. On the one hand, he has trouble in school. Of course, it's not because he's not able to do the work. It's simply because no one at his school seems to have a clue about ADHD and are certainly not interested in assisting him to excel. On the other hand is the Scouting program that sees leadership potential and tries to encourage it. We are thankful for the positive influences of Scouting to counter the discouraging atmosphere of his school.
