Back to the real world...
It seems so strange that we were in Europe several weeks ago and that our lives were so regimented based on travel needs and schedules. There were a limited number of expectations and, as exhausted as we were, everything seemed possible. We are now back into the lives we had before we left for Dublin. It seems so many years ago instead of four months. That is the way it always is when we get back.
I was rushed last night and just had time to post the comment and video about Ian and the Heartbeats. I wanted to catch up again on what is happening (Tammie wrote and asked if I had forgotten how to write since we returned).
Keri wanted to host our Just Desserts this year but we were still in London on the "traditional" December graduation night. So we scheduled it for January 5th, Twelfth Night. It was crazy, but we pulled it off. It was a little bizarre to be hanging a Christmas wreath on out door in January. This was about the 18th year and Keri really wanted to do it. The majority of the guests have been to all of them and date back to the time when the first progressive dinner allowed each of the four hosts to invite four guests. The numbers have grown as children grow up and we have tried to add more people but there is absolutely no room left in the house. I really think that for that one night a year our house is at its absolute capacity.
Classes begin Monday and requests for letters of recommendation are piling up on my desk. I need to go in and work a little today.
