an arch wherethro'

Homecoming 2016

It's been an interesting weekend so far. Last night we went to the Crazy For You, the Homecoming Musical. Sue Moore had gotten us tickets in the handicapped section on the break in the Benson. It was complex getting there but we did. Keri really enjoyed the play but the highlight of the evening was meeting up with Brenda Wilkerson, one of Keri's old friends. She was so patient with Keri. They relived old times for 30 minutes and There was nothing uncomfortable about it.

This morning, we went to Waffle House for a late breakfast, then made pumpkin Rice Krispie treats. The tailgate began at 11:30. It was attended by the same ole crowd with the addition of Tammie, Vivian, and some other people I didn't know. My treat was the presence of Dan Blucker and two of Dean Bawcom's brothers. They had a memorial for Dean earlier in the day, but we couldn't make it. It has become very difficult doing several thinks in a row.

It felt strange today. They had decided to cater with KFC and we were to bring drinks and desserts. The problem is that no one had bothered to tell us. We had missed the last tailgate. I also felt that we were somehow on the fringe today. Maybe it was just my mood, but I felt that we had been written off. I was busy visiting with Dan and Dean's brothers. When I looked up, most people were gone. They hadn't come over to say goodbye. Of course, everyone headed for the game and we delayed to pack our stuff. I took a photo that seems to reflect my impressions of the day.

King of the Mountain!

Ian entered a climbing contest this past weekend. Keri was at her sister's and I was in Dallas so we couldn't go watch. He's practiced all year since he came in 4th in the beginners devision at the competition last year. This year he came in 3rd in the Advanced devision. Here is his trophy!

Sisters!

I had a meeting in Dallas this past weekend and Keri went to visit her sister. She had a delightful time. Alesa and Dave removed the bed from the bedstead and Keri could get in and out. We discovered that Keri could not get in and out of their vehicles so Keri and Alesa stayed at the house the whole weekend. Alesa posted the following photo and comment!
"Today was a great day with my sister. I pray that even when she doesn't remember my name, she knows I am someone who loves her deeply and that we can always laugh and be silly."

New iPad

For the last several days, I have been having trouble posting to the blog from my iPhone. Not that anyone should be bothered but me, since I'm assuming no one else is reading this. Anyway, I purchased a new iPad yesterday to begin the transition of information off of my Harding computer and iPad. The blog seems to be working better on this so I may be back in business.

Keri is well. She seems to be a little less stable but we are still making it. She is going to spend several days with Alesa tomorrow while I go to the Course Directors Conference in Dallas. I sure hope everything goes OK. Keri will probably be glad to get away from me for awhile.

Laughs!!!

We still have some good times. May they continue for many years. I got this photo tonight and of course I can't post it anywhere but here.
